I apologize that this post is coming late. The Internet is down and I am waiting for a repair. In the meantime, here is an update on today's travel.
We left our home around 445 AM and had little traffic and easily made our way to the Newark airport. Bags were checked; none overweight. We glided through the security checkpoints and made our way to the gate. After a brief wait we boarded and had all our seats. Do you get the sense that everything was going smoothly? Don't worry -this is not a good news bad news story. After an uneventful plane ride of about 5 hours we landed safely in Panama City on schedule. We successfully navigated immigration and customs ( a few translation challenges). Off to baggage claim where we found all of our luggage had arrived. We exited the baggage claim area and immediately spotted our host David Bueno. We were warmly greeted by our hosts and by 90 degree Panama City weather. We loaded our luggage into a truck and ourselves into a van and traveled 30 minutes to our home (Casa Paraiso) for the next 8 days.
We are resting, doing our individual devotions and will be meeting as a team at 6PM and then dinner at 7. We are happy to be here and so excited about God's faithfulness and care for us in our journey today. Coach Haas for the Cairn Panama team.
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23
